Gold price and silver price market session trend review mid-day today March 7, 2013:

Precious metals gold and silver held safe haven appeal last session as price trends tracked higher. Both contracts finished the last full trading session with floor prices in positive territory. April contract gold price was up to a posted floor price of 1,574.90 per troy ounce. May contract silver price was up to a posted floor price of 28.80 per troy ounce.


Gold’s price trend-line change is negative over time this year. According to one month price change review, gold price has dropped approximately 5.6 percent. According to one year price change analysis, gold price has dropped by approximately 6.18 percent overall. Improving economic trends in the U.S. have pressured gold prices recently.
One month price change for silver is negative as well. Silver price has dropped approximately 13.3 percent over the last month.

As the trading session reached the mid-day mark today, gold and silver price trends were mixed.

April contract gold price was up by .04 percent at 1,676.60 per troy ounce at mid-day. May contract silver price was higher by .28 percent at an electronic post of 28.88 as of the mid-day mark.

Spot gold per gram and spot silver per ounce price trend review mid-day March 7, 2013:
Spot gold per gram price was tracking lower at mid-day and posted at 50.71. Spot silver per ounce price was tracking lower as of mid-day at 28.81.
