Gains again for Dow; Today’s Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA Index, Nasdaq, S&P 500 U.S. Stock Market News Review Today March 7, 2013

Stock Market News Review Today March 7, 2013:



The Dow Jones Industrial Average extended gains and closed the last full trading session at a new record high once again. The Dow Jones Industrial Average Index surpassed its record high set in October of 2007 on the second trading session of this week, and then continued its ascent during the mid-week session.
Despite worries associated with the U.S. sequester, the primary stock composites have make gains for the the week overall so far.
Last session, the primary stock composites finished the session mixed. The Nasdaq finished below break-even and the S&P 500 finished on positive ground. Both were little changed.

In economic news last session, the ADP report was better than expected. According to the payroll processor report, approximately 198,000 private sector jobs were added in February. The report was a positive indicator ahead of Friday’s highly anticipated government payroll report.

Dow Jones Industrial Average, Nasdaq, S&P 500 Stock Index Close Review today:
The S&P 500 index closed last session higher by .11 percent at 1,541.46. The Nasdaq finished the last session lower by .05 percent at 3,222.37 and the Dow Jones Industrial Average closed the last session higher by .30 percent at 14,296.24.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average is currently up by approximately 9.1 percent for the year.
