Fish Oil supplementation may have superb benefits. There is research available that states that Fish Oil supplementation may lower the risk for breast cancer in postmenopausal women according to results of the VITamins And Lifestyle Cohort study reported in the July issue of Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention. General use of the supplement has increased dramatically over the last several years and benefits such as the latest reported from the VITAL study have something to do with the increase. It has not gotten to the point that recommendations are being made by the researchers to use the supplement if you have been diagnosed but it is being said that

Fish Oil is a potential candidate for chemoprevention studies. Until more research is conducted, it is not recommended for individual use of breast cancer prevention. There are other numerous studies that are linking fish oil supplementation with benefiting people who suffer from joint and back pain, protection against heart disease, and prostate cancer. It should also be noted however tat there have been recent lawsuits claiming that some of the supplements contain chemicals, PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyl compounds), that are banned. The message here is buyer beware. PCB’s are know to cause cancer and birth defects.
