Disability Benefits for Veterans PTSD Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, $2,700 month, Veteran Affairs Department Streamline Application Approval Process

Benefits will be easier to obtain for veterans seeking to obtain federal aid and support for their disability of PTSD or Post Traumatic Stress Disorder according to President Obama. This news came Saturday in an address that President Obama made to the nation during his weekly radio address. PTSD is brought on by experiencing a taumatic event like what one might experience in a war situation where one is threatened with harm or even death.


Then after the initial experience, the person who suffers from PTSD relives or experiences intense negative emotion and thoughts that relate to the initials traumatic experience. Many people who suffer from PTSD have difficulty functioning day to day. According to the new rules for obtaining veteran benefits for PTSD, the process for obtaining the government benefit is streamlined. The Veteran Affairs Department implied that the new rules will end time consuming searches for past information about the veteran. The primary change is that methods will allow for prompt diagnosis of a veteran’s disability and then make the attainment of benefits a more efficient process. Qualified veterans will be entitled to disability compensation of as much as $2,700 a month. The details of this policy will be announced in further detail during the day of July 12, 2010.
