There is new coverage for uninsured people in poor health. President Obama’s health care reform overhaul is just what the doctor ordered for those Americans that are in poor health with a pre-existing medical condition and do not have the medical insurance they need to better their health and well being. President Obama is putting federal funds behind this overhaul and has earmarked approximately 5 billion dollars for the program through 2013.
That is a lot of money but some do not really believe that the money will actually last through 2013. It will be available though starting in 2010. What many feel overwhelmingly disgruntled about is that once you are diagnosed with an ailment and are considered to have a preexisting condition, it is next to impossible to acquire affordable health care coverage from anyone. The Pre-Existing Condition Insurance Plan will begin accepting applications in many states as early as August 1st 2010. Detailed information regarding this provision and benefit can be found at your state’s website or the government website. Many feel that for a high-risk individual, the rates are going to be as good as it gets in the realm of health care coverage and cost. generally, to qualify for the program and funds, a person must have had a pre-existing medical condition and have been without insurance for at least six months. Only U.S. citizens and legal residents will qualify.
